• demyelination & increased sensitization for stimuli occurs after a direct nerve root trauma

Clinical manifestations

• radiculopathy
• functional recover of spinal nerve root injury is slow

Management

• physical therapy
• nonsteroid anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)
• glucocorticoids
• surgery
