• fasting serum glucose
  • baseline, at 12 weeks to 4 months, then annually
  • check more frequently if high risk of diabetes
  • monitor diabetics regularly for worsening glucemic control
• fasting lipid panel
  • at 12 weeks, then every 2-5 years if normal
  • checking every 3 months during the 1st year of therapy has been suggested
