Pathology
- fistula in the oval window or round window creating an abnormal passage between the middle ear & the vestibular apparatus[2]
History
- history of straining or trauma
Clinical manifestations
- sudden onset of sensorineural hearing loss
- dizziness, vertigo, nystagmus
Diagnostic procedures
- pneumatic otoscopy with bulb insufflation may cause vertigo with nystagmus (Hennebert sign)
