Introduction
An oval opening on the medial wall of the tympanic cavity leading to the vestibule.
It is closed in life by the foot of the stapes.
The oval window is the point of contact of the triad of auditory ossicles transmitting sound impulses from the tympanic membrane to the vestibule.
