- adults, men >= 35 years & women >= 45 years at increased risk for cardiovascular disease[3]*
- evidence is insufficient to recommend lipid screening in persons < 20 years of age[2][3]
* previous recommendations for younger adults based on extrapolation from studies performed in older adults
Laboratory
- fasting lipid panel every 5 years, eligible adults[1][3]
