• vitreoretinopathy
• optically empty vitreous cavity with fibrillary condensations & a avascular preretinal membrane
• perivascular sheating

Genetics

• dominantly inherited
• type 1 associated with defects in versican (VCAN)

Clinical manifestations

• progressive chorioretinal atrophy
• subcapsular cataract
• myopia
• systemic manifestations are absent
