Etiology

• chronic xerophthalmia
• allergic conjunctivitis

Pathology

• conjunctival irritation causes swelling with eventual stretching of the conjuntiva
• redundant conjunctiva moves around on the eye with eyelid movement

Clinical manifestations

• tearing
• eye pain or discomfort
• tired eyes

Management

• supportive
• conjunctivoplasty
