• relatively painless
• may become painful with abscess formation

Laboratory

• testing for sexually transmitted disease
  • GenProbe for GC/chlamydia
  • RPR or VRDL
  • HIV1 ELISA
• Pap Smear

Complications

• Bartholin's abscess

Management

• Sitz baths
• treat abscess
• surgical drainage
• marsupialization
