diagnostic criteria for migraine without aura

Diagnostic criteria

  • at least 5 attacks fulfilling other criteria
  • headache attacks lasting 4-72 hours, untreated or treated unsuccessfully
  • headache with at least 2 of the following characteristics
    • unilateral
    • pulsating
    • moderate-severe pain
    • aggravation by or resulting in avoidance of routine physical activity
  • at least 1 of the following characteristics during headache
  • nausea &/or vomiting
  • photophobia & phonophobia
  • not attributed to another disorder
