Diagnostic criteria
- at least 5 attacks fulfilling other criteria
- headache attacks lasting 4-72 hours, untreated or treated unsuccessfully
- headache with at least 2 of the following characteristics
- unilateral
- pulsating
- moderate-severe pain
- aggravation by or resulting in avoidance of routine physical activity
- at least 1 of the following characteristics during headache
- nausea &/or vomiting
- photophobia & phonophobia
- not attributed to another disorder
