Epidemiology
- most common cause of osmotic diarrhea
Pathology
- deficiency of lactose
- may occur secondary to recent food poisoning or gastroenteritis
Clinical manifestations
Management
- improvement after exclusion of dietary lactose or administration of lactase with meals confirms diagnosis[1]
