Introduction
A serrated, shelf-like extension of the spinal pia mater.
Structure
- it projects in a frontal plane from either side of the cervical spinal cord & thoracic spinal cord.
- it consists of about 20 pointed processes that fuse laterally with the arachnoid & dura midway between the exits of the roots of the adjacent spinal nerves.
The highest process attaches superior to the foramen magnum.
