Introduction

One of the fibrocartilagenous plates located on the anterior aspect of each metacarpophalangeal joint & interphalangeal joint of the hand.

The ligament is firmly attached to the base of the phalange & the head of the next proximal bone.

It is grooved to accomodate the long flexor tendon.
