Introduction

One of the strong, flat longitudinal & oblique bands of fibrous tissue reinforcing the dorsal aspects of the tarsometatarsal joints (joints between the metatarsals & cuboid bone &/or cunieform bone).

The 1st metatarsal & the medial cuneiform bone share an exclusive joint capsule & the medial dorsal tarsometatarsal ligament connects only these bones.

The remaining metatarsals have attachments to multiple bones, with the ligaments reinforcing the dorsal aspect of their common joint capsule.
