Origin

• orbital portion of the orbicularis oculi
• nasal prominence

Insertion

skin of eyebrow

Action

• draws medial end of eyebrow downward
• wrinkles forehead vertically
• conveys expression of deep thought, worry or concern

Innervation

facial nerve (CN VII)
