Introduction

Muscle of posterior compartment of forearm.

Origin

lateral epicondyle of humerus

Insertion

• by 4 tendons into the base of the proximal, middle & distal phalanges

Action

• extends fingers, especially at the metacarpophalangeal joint

Innervation

radial nerve (posterior interosseous nerve)
