Origin

• lateral condyle of the tibia
• upper 2/3 of the anterior margin of the fibula
• in common with the extensor digitorum longus

Insertion

dorsum of the base of the 5th metatarsal

Action

assists in dorsiflexion & eversion of foot

Innervation

deep branch of the peroneal nerve
