transverse humeral ligament

Introduction

A broad fibrous band running more or less obliquely from the greater to the lesser tubercle of the humerus and converts the intertubercular groove into a canal.

Function

• Strengthens the articular capsule
• Bridges the gap between the greater & lesser tubercles of the humerus
