saphenous opening (hiatus saphenous, fossa ovalis)

Introduction

The opening in the fascia lata inferior to the medial part of the inguinal ligament approximately 4cm inferolateral to the pubic tubercle through which the saphenous vein passes to enter the femoral vein.
