common iliac lymph node

Introduction

Parietal nodes located in association with the common iliac vein. Subdivided into 5 groups:

  • Intermediate common iliac - between the common iliac artery & vein
  • Lateral common iliac - lateral to the vein
  • Medial common iliac - medial to the vein
  • Promontorial common iliac - at the sacral promontory
  • Subaortic common iliac - at the bifurcation of the aorta

Receives afferents from the external & internal iliac nodes & send efferents to the lumbar nodes.
