Introduction
2 groups of nodes located in the popliteal fossa.
- Superficial popliteal:
- around the termination of the saphenous vein
- drains the skin of the back of the leg & lateral side of the foot
- Deep popliteal:
- around the popliteal vessels, that drain the superficial group, the deep structures of the leg & the knee joint
