Introduction
A portion of the temporal lobe involved in processing the sense of smell. Epileptic seizures originating in the uncus are associated with disagreeable olfactory hallucinations. The uncus lies close to cranial nerve 3 & may press on it & injure it following a subdural hemorrhage that forces the uncus to herniate against the brain stem.
