Introduction

A small parasympathetic ganglion lying in the orbit between the optic nerve & the lateral rectus muscle

The ganglion receives input from Edinger-Westphal nucleus (CN 3) with output (via short ciliary nerves) to the pupillary sphincter & ciliary muscle
