celiac ganglion

Introduction

The largest & most superior of the paired prevertebral sympathetic ganglia.

The ganglia are located on the superior part of the abdominal aorta on either side of the origin of the celiac artery.

Postganglionic unmyelinated fibers innervate the stomach, liver, gallbladder, spleen, kidney, small intestine & ascending colon & transverse colon.
