Origin
Innervation
- tympanic plexus
- mucous membrane of the tympanic cavity, mastoid air cells & auditory tube
- presynaptic parasympathetic fibers of the lesser superficial petrosal nerve pass through the tympanic nerve to the otic ganglion & parotid gland
Course
- passes through the tympanic caniliculus to the tympanic cavity, forming the tympanic plexus.
