Formed by union of the internal jugular & subclavian veins.

• left vertebral vein
• internal thoracic vein
• superior intercostal vein
• thoracic duct
• inferior thyroid vein
• other anterior pericardial, bronchial & mediastinal veins Joins with the right brachiocephalic vein to form the superior vena cava.
