internal thoracic vein; internal mammary vein

Introduction

A tributary of the brachiocephalic vein accompanying the internal thoracic artery on either side. At the level of the 2nd costal cartilage the vein bifurcates (vena comitantes), each branch extending inferiorly on either side of the artery.
