Introduction

On rare occasions, humans may serve as intermediate hosts. Sarcocysts may be found in cardiac & striated muscle. Domestic dogs & possibly other species serve as definitive hosts from which infectious oocysts or sporocysts are transmitted through water or direct exposure.
