LE cell

Introduction

A polymorphonuclear leukocyte containing as amorphous round body which is a phagocytosed nucleus from another cell plus serum antinuclear IgG & complement. LE cells are formed in vitro in the blood of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus, or by the action of the patient's serum on normal leukocytes.
