Introduction
Together with leukotriene-C & E = SRS-A (slow-reacting substance of anaphylaxis). Promotes smooth muscle contraction of pulmonary airways, trachea & intestines, & increases permeability of microvasculature. [For molecular structure, see specific subtype in arachidonate or eicosapentaenoate cascade.]
