Tradenames: Off, Repel, Cutter
Indications
mosquito repellent (best on market 2002)
Dosage
- apply to skin & clothes[2]
- 10-50% most adults[2]
- 10% for children[2]
- up to 30% for children QD > 2 months of age[3]
Ultrathon: polymer form contains 25% DEET, lasts up to 8 hours
Avoid DEET/sunscreen combinations, sunscreen needs more frequent application
- mean protection until time of 1st bite

Adverse effects
- excellent safety record after 40 years of use
- excessive use associated with neurotoxicity[2]
- limit concentration in children (see dosage)
