Introduction
Tradename: Cefzil. 2nd generation cephalosporin.
Indications
- treatment of bacterial infections due to susceptible organisms
- empiric treatment of fever of unknown origin
Dosage
250-500 mg PO QD or divided BID
Tabs: 250, 500 mg, Suspension: 125, 250 mg/5 mL.
Antimicrobial activity
- Neisseria gonorrhoeae
- Neisseria meningitidis
- Moraxella catarrhalis
- Haemophilus influenzae
- Escherichia coli
- Klebsiella species
- Salmonella species
- Shigella species
- Proteus mirabilis
