Introduction
- a form of AD characterized by the presence of Lewy bodies & Hirano bodies.
- amyloid plaques are present in the usual abundance (in contrast to diffuse Lewy body disease)
- however, neurofibrillary tangles are few in number.
- it is considered by some to be one & the same as diffuse Lewy body disease (Lewy body dementia)[1]
- others[2] consider it a separate entity.
