Introduction

A group of related sequences 50-100 amino acids in length. PH-domains may be involved in interactions with the beta/gamma subunits of GTP-binding proteins &/or they may associate with phospholipids & promote association of signaling proteins with membranes. Proteins containing a PH-domain are generally cytoplasmic, but associate with the plasma membrane.

PH-domains are comprised of 2 roughly perpendicular anti-parallel beta sheets, followed by a C-terminal amphipathic alpha-helix.
