- transport of triglyceride, cholesteryl ester, & phospholipid between phospholipid surfaces
- secretion of plasma lipoproteins containing apolipoprotein B
- heterodimer composed of MTTP & protein disulfide isomerase
- positively regulated by cholesterol & negatively regulated by insulin

- contains 1 vitellogenin domain

- expressed in liver, small intestine, ovary, testis, kidney
Pathology
- defects in MTTP are associated with abetalipoproteinemia
