• transport of triglyceride, cholesteryl ester, & phospholipid between phospholipid surfaces
• secretion of plasma lipoproteins containing apolipoprotein B
• heterodimer composed of MTTP & protein disulfide isomerase
• positively regulated by cholesterol & negatively regulated by insulin

• contains 1 vitellogenin domain

Expression

• expressed in liver, small intestine, ovary, testis, kidney

Pathology

• defects in MTTP are associated with abetalipoproteinemia
