Function

• inhibits signal transduction by increasing GTPase activity of G-alpha subunits increasing the amount of inactive GDP-bound form
• associates specifically with activated forms of G protein subunits Gi-alpha & Gz-alpha
• does not interact with Gs-alpha subunit
• activity on Gz-alpha is inhibited by palmitoylation of the G-protein
• isoform 3 is phosphorylated on Ser-16
