Function
- GTPase activator for the Rho-type GTPases by converting them to an inactive GDP-bound state
- could regulate interactions of signaling molecules with actin cytoskeleton
- promotes continuous elongation of cytoplasmic processes during cell motility & simultaneous retraction of cell body
- changing the cell morphology
Structure
contains 1 Rho-GAP domain
Compartment

named isoforms=5
Expression
- expressed in kidney, heart & skeletal muscle > retina, lymphoblast, placenta, lung, brain, pancreas & liver
Genetics
- ARHGAP6 gene undergoes X inactivation
