Indications

• infectious diarrhea due to Aeromonas &/or Plesiomonas

Specimen

• fresh, randomly collected stool
• minimum volume: 1 g of stool
• container:
  • plastic-coated cardboard cup or plastic cup with tight-fitting lid

Notes

• MUST always culture for other enteric pathogens
