Introduction

Blood specimens are obtained before injection of heparin (100 units/kg body weight) & 15 minutes later. Both sera are analyzed by lipoprotein electrophoresis. Evidence of heparin- releasable lipoprotein lipase consists of greater mobility & smearing of bands in the post-heparin sample as compared with the preheparin sample.
