Introduction
Supertype dehydrogenase used by analogy to PGF synthase.
Function
- catalyzes conversion of PGH2 to PGD2 (glutathione-dependent)
- role in smooth muscle contraction & relaxation
- inhibits platelet aggregation.
- role in expression of PGD & PDJ in hematopoietic cells.
Expression
- expressed in megakaryocytes, but not platelets
- expressed in placenta
