Clinical manifestations

  • depressed initiative
  • decreased affect
  • disinterest in surroundings
  • suppression of complex behavior
  • suppression of spontaneous movement
  • decreased aggressiveness & impulsivity
  • decreased psychotic symptoms
  • extrapyramidal activity.

* phenothiazines have been referred to as neuroleptics because of their tendency to induce neuroleptic syndrome
