Function
- required for phosphorylation of the deoxyribonucleosides deoxycytidine (dC), deoxyguanosine (dG) & deoxyadenosine (dA)
- phosphorylates nucleoside analogs widely employed as antiviral & chemotherapeutic agents
- phosphorylated upon DNA damage, probably by ATM or ATR
NTP + deoxycytidine <--> NDP + dCMP
