Introduction
A surgical technique that is a modification of the extra-capsular cataract extraction procedure whereby the nucleus of the cataract is fragmented by a probe oscillating at ultrasonic frequency & nuclear fragments are simultaneously aspirated from the eye. An intraocular lens is then implanted in the treated eye.
