Etiology
Epidemiology
- least common of lacunar syndromes
- 2-6% of all lacunar infarct
Pathology
- results from infarction of the anterior limb of the internal capsule[2]
- lenticulostriate artery from the middle cerebral artery involved[2]
Clinical manifestations
- facial weakness
- dysarthria
- slight weakness & clumsiness of one hand
- no sensory deficits
- no cortical signs
