Introduction
Provides alternating currents of air that redistribute or regulate pressure against the body.
Advantages
- reduce skin shear
- retain moisture & heat
Disadvantages
- more expensive than foam overlays
- higher maintenance costs
Notes
- consider for patients who cannot assume a variety of positions or who have bottomed out on a static device
