Introduction
Pressure-reducing device designed to provide support characteristics that remain constant-i.e., do not cycle in time. Examples include foam overlays, cushions, & water mattresses.
Indications
- advanced static mattress or static overlay for at-risk patients reduce pressure ulcer risk relative to standard hospital mattresses[1]
