  • pierces the aponeurotic covering of Hunter's canal & accompanies the long saphenous nerve to the inner side of the thigh
• deep branch
  • descends in the substance of the vastus internus

  • with the inferior medial genicular artery (branch of popliteal artery)
• deep branch
  • with the superior medial genicular artery & anterior branch of the anterior tibial
