Kiesselbach's plexus

Structure

• Kiesselbach's plexus is formed from a network of anastomotic vessels from the anterior ethmoidal arteries & posterior ethmoidal arteries in the anterior region of the nasal septum

Arterial supply

• the nasal septum is supplied from anterior to posterior by the
  • anterior ethmoidal arteries
  • posterior ethmoidal arteries
  • branches of the external carotid arteries
  • sphenopalatine arteries

Pathology

• 90% of epistaxes arise from Kiesselbach's plexus.
