Introduction
Occurs within the 1st 3 years of life. Glaucoma is considered congenital if present at birth.
Etiology
- multifactorial inheritance
- developmental anomaly of the iridocorneal angle
Clinical manifestations
- corneal clouding
- excess tearing
- photophobia
- blepharospasm
- corneal enlargement (horizontal diameter > 13 mm)
- cup/disc ratio > 0.3 or asymmetry of the disc/cup ratio between the 2 eyes
- irregular corneal reflex
Laboratory
Management
- surgery
- laser trabeculoplasty
- goniotomy
