secondary glaucoma

Introduction

Secondary glaucoma results from an identifiable cause & is most commonly seen in older children.

Etiology

• pigment disorders
• systemic illnesses
• trauma
• surgery
• Sturge-Weber syndrome
• Marfan syndrome
• congenital rubella
• Lowe syndrome

Management

• symptomatic treatment similar to open-angle glaucoma
• treat underlying etiology
