Etiology

• all warts are caused by human papilloma virus (HPV)
• HPV types 3,5,8,9,10,12,14,15,17,19-25, 28,29

Epidemiology

rare

Pathology

• abnormal susceptibility to infection by specific HPV types

Genetics

• autosomal recessive
• associated with defects in TMC6 gene associated with defects in TMC8 gene

Clinical manifestations

• numerous HPV papules & macules

Complications

• malignant transformation is common.
